Important Traffic Information At the time of writing, Edinburgh authorities are installing a Tram network and is having to re-route and alter roads. The result is, extra journey time and delays. Please consider this when making plans and using the directions provided. Thank you.

From Airport by car
Leave the Airport taking the A8 for Edinburgh, you will go for 2 miles until the Gogar roundabout. You need to get onto the A720 city bypass so look for the signs saying Edinburgh South & East. Stay on this road for about 6 miles and look out for the junction sign called Straiton. Take the Straiton junction and at the end of the slip road turn first left onto the A701 with signs for Edinburgh City Centre (South). Stay on this (A701) road for about 3 to 4 miles. You will go straight on through 2 main traffic lights controlled junctions signposts that will have Liberton listed. After the second of these junctions we are about half a mile further down on the left-hand side of the main road situated just after a right-hand curve in the road. We have a white signage display showing Brae Lodge Guest House name by the roadside. Free parking is off road in front of the house.

From Waverly Train Station
When you exit Edinburgh Waverly Station you should make your way to Princes Street. Cross over to the opposite side of Princes Street at the traffic lights and then turning to your left, continue until the next street, this is called South St.David Street. Now turn into that street (staying on the same side of the road). Just a few more steps will take you to the bus stop. Now see the text opposite for local bus directions

From Airport using Airlink bus service
Leave the Airport via the Airlink bus exit, take the Airlink bus on Stand 19 all the way to the terminus at the Waverly Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh.
From there, cross over the road to the train station side of the road and walk up towards Princes Street. Now at the traffic lights at the top of that road, cross over to the opposite side of Princes Street and then turning to your left, continue until the next street, this is called South St.David Street. Now turn into that street (staying on the same side of the road). Just a few more steps will take you to the bus stop. Now see the text opposite for local bus directions

We are located on the A701 road
approximately 2½ miles from the city centre.

Directions for local buses from the city centre

There are 2 Lothian Regional Transport (LRT) buses from Edinburgh city centre that can take you to within 100 metres of us, look for the LRT bus stops with either numbers 37 or 47. The journey should take no more than 15 minutes and costs £1.30 per adult (exact fare only).
From Princes Street, you will travel along the North Bridge road, traveling away from the centre and continue through Newington Road, Minto Street and Craigmillar Park. The bus then turns right onto Liberton Road. Once on Liberton Road there are 3 further bus stops. After the third bus stop there is a traffic lights junction and across this junction is Liberton Brae road, this is where we are. You should now request to get off at the next bus stop called Tower Mains. (If in doubt ask the driver for the FIRST bus stop AFTER Liberton Road). We are about 100metres on the opposite side of the road from this bus stop.
